FAQs

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

How do I find the SeaCab?

For our Sunset Cruise, you can find us in Russell right next to the Duke of Marlborough Hotel on the waterfront. We are the bright yellow boat with a red number 4 on it, think Thunderbirds are go!!

In fact, why not plan to stop in at the Duke for a drink before departure, or even better, make a dinner booking for after the cruise?

What should I bring?

Please bring your camera and a smile!

Do you cancel in bad weather?

If the weather could affect your safety our skipper will cancel and organise a full refund. But the weather would have to be quite extreme as Rascal and Reprobate are all-weather, fully enclosed vessels.

Will we see dolphins?

Dolphins and Orca are occasionally seen in the inner harbour at certain times of the year, you are more likely to see Penguins all year round.

What is the seating like?

Comfortable and every seat has a view on our boats.

What are the risks?

Limited but like all boats getting on and off the vessel can lead to trips - ensure your hands are free as you get on or off. Check out our Risk Disclosure in our 'About Us' menu section.

What is the minimum number of passengers needed?

All cruises require a minimum number of 5 guests to depart, so this makes booking in advance essential.

Will I get wet?

No, our boats are fully enclosed.

Is there any food and drink included on this cruise?

No, but we have a small selection of food and drink available to purchase, you can pre-order as part of the booking process.

Can I get off at Paihia?

Why would you want to? Russell is so much better!

Can you take pushchairs on board?

We are very family friendly however we have very limited space for extras such as push chairs, because of this only collapsible strollers are allowed on board. You can leave prams at the Duke of Marlborough Hotel while you are on the cruise (located 20 metres from the wharf), just see reception.

Is your boat wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, there is only stepped access to the vessel and a flat ramp is not possible, so our vessels are not wheel chair accessible.
